Let's start with what I'm not going to tell you.
I'm not going to tell you my name. I'm not going to show you my face. I work in the corporate world, and the version of me that exists in that world needs to stay separate from the version of me that writes honestly about her anxiety medication, her abusive ex-boyfriend, and generally every mistake she's ever made. If you work in a professional environment where your personal life can be used against you, you already understand this completely.
What I can tell you is who I actually am.
Who's behind this?
Because I got tired of consuming content that wasn't built for me.
I got tired of biohacking advice that was developed on male bodies and handed to women without a disclaimer. I got tired of finance content that told me to cut my iced coffee while home prices hit $750,000. I got tired of productivity tips that assumed a neurotypical brain, wellness content from people who have never had a real problem, and "mental health" posts that were actually just aesthetic. I got tired of mansplaining dressed up as expertise and misinformation dressed up as research.
I'm a neurodivergent ADHDer — late diagnosed, which is its own story — with a history of codependency, and what I'll generously call an addictive personality. I've been through two long-term relationships that didn't work out, one of which was genuinely abusive in ways it took me years and a therapist to name clearly. I've made three major life resets across three cities. I've gone through ten medications before finding the right one, and fired three therapists before finding the fourth.
I'm telling you this not because I want your sympathy, but because I want you to understand the editorial standard here: nothing on this page gets published unless I would stake my own experience on it.
A note on how this gets made:
I write my own content. AI helps with the research and citations. I've been using em dashes and Oxford commas since before AI was a thing. My natural writing style is essentially an inner monologue at full speed, and frankly, who could keep up with that? I feed my drafts to AI to improve readability and structure, because a train-of-thought that makes complete sense in my head doesn't always translate cleanly onto a page. Transparency matters here, and that's exactly what this is.
Why this page exists...
I'm a late-30s millennial living in a southern coastal town — which, after living in the northeast most of my life, feels like a reward I didn't earn but am absolutely keeping. I'm a consultant by trade, which means my job security is essentially nonexistent. I have a Bernese mountain dog who is the love of my life and most effective anxiety intervention. Not because I sought a service dog trained for anxiety, but because the universe got confused and sent me a dog with anxiety. It's a gentle reminder that everyone is struggling, even your lazy freeloader dog.
I'm single, unbothered by that most days, and actively working on the codependency patterns that made the unbothered part take so long to arrive. I have a college degree that took six years and an MBA I started at 38, which means I will probably be paying off student loans until I'm 60 and I have made my peace with that. I graduated into the 2008 recession, spent years making less than minimum wage at a "real job," and have lived in cities where the median home price could fund a small country. I am 2 for 5 on the life milestones I was handed as a teenager. The two I hit were the degree and the corporate job. I'm genuinely fine.
Now, the important stuff. My vices are sour gummy candy (sugar addiction is a legitimate neurological phenomenon and I will be citing research on this eventually), thriller novels consumed at hours I should be sleeping, and tanning. I know. I wear a hat. This is a no-judgment zone, remember? I have a lifelong passion for self-help books, wellness, and research, which is probably why this blog exists at all. And recently I've fallen completely down the rabbit hole of quantum physics, specifically, the idea that every decision we've ever made has spawned an entirely separate version of our lives, branching infinitely outward, and that we only have access to one thread of consciousness at a time. If you want a entry point into this concept that won't require a physics degree, Blake Crouch's novel Dark Matter is the most accessible and genuinely trippy explanation I've encountered — fiction, but the kind that makes you put the book down and stare at the ceiling for a while. Highly recommend if you're the kind of person who enjoys a mental spiral before bed.
The basics...
No fake news. No bro-science. No mansplaining.
No judgment about where you are or what your life looks like.
No sponsored content — if I recommend something, it's because I bought it with my own money and it worked, or didn't, and I'll tell you either way.
